Day 20: Memorizing a Deck of Cards II, Speed Drilling

With all 52 card-pictures fixed from Day 19, speed becomes purely a drilling problem, the same way a pianist drills scales. Start slow, one card every 5-8 seconds, chaining each new card’s image onto the last with an absurd action. Accuracy first, always, speed only comes once accuracy is boring-easy.

As you improve, cut the time per card gradually, and start chunking two or three cards into a single combined scene instead of one at a time, competitive memorizers often build pre-made three-card combo images for exactly this reason. Track your time and your accuracy separately, a fast run that you can’t actually recall isn’t progress.

Practice below with a short run of cards using your own scheme from Day 19.
